Havelock Place.

Specialist Dementia Assisted Independent Living

The first of its kind in North Tyneside, Havelock Place has been thoughtfully designed to help people living with cognitive impairments live independently, safely and with dignity.

Developed in consultation with people living with cognitive impairment, their families and carers, with expert guidance from the University of Stirling and Admiral Nurses, every aspect has been carefully considered to promote independence, wellbeing, choice and inclusion.

The result is a welcoming, supportive community where tenants feel valued and empowered to live fulfilling lives while maintaining their independence for as long as possible.

Assisted Independent Living – Life at Havelock Place

Havelock Place accommodates up to 40 tenants, offering independent living alongside personalised care and a strong sense of community. Specially designed bungalows provide additional support for those with more complex needs.

Tenants enjoy their own homes with a dedicated care team available 24/7, providing reassurance and support as needs change.

The scheme has a vibrant community, including The Dry Colliery alcohol-free pub and an on-site corner shop, both staffed by tenant volunteers. A varied programme of activities, events and outings also takes place throughout the year, shaped by tenants and their families.

Above all, our compassionate care team provides tailored support that promotes independence, wellbeing and quality of life in a safe, welcoming environment.
